I have had ovarian cancer and have had operation and chemo?
My CA125 has begun to rise.

Hello Benstead
I'm sorry to hear that, after going through treatment for ovarian cancer you've recently been told that you have an elevated CA125 result. It's understandable that this is a worrying time.
It's good to know that you've already had some additional tests and I presume you're waiting for the result of those scans.
Who has been monitoring your CA125 results Benstead? Are you being monitored by the hospital specialists, or is it your GP that's requested these investigations? Hopefully you have contact details for a specialist cancer nurse and if you do, then I'd really encourage you to give them a call and talk things through with them. They will be best placed to talk through the plans to monitor your health and arrange any further tests, investigations or treatment as appropriate.
Alternatively, if you'd like to chat things through with one of our nurses for some advice and support, you're welcome to give them a call. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040 (excluding bank holidays).
Let us know how you get on Benstead. Hopefully, you will get some positive, reassuring news soon.
Best wishes,

Thank you. My gp is the person who requested the scan and the liquid tests.
Because if it being a bank holiday, I'm waiting until tomorrow for scan results.
I don't know how to find a cancer nurse.
My husband has bowel cancer and is contacted by his surgical team and stoma nurses regularly.
I had two blood tests with a two week gap and each one has gone up.
Do you think my gp will let me have another after two weeks?
We are birth in our 80s with nearest family iqver 200 miles away.
Thank you for responding.
Hello Benstead
It's good to know that your GP is managing this for you. It may be that they decide to refer you to a specialist for further investigations based on the results of your scan and the blood test results.
Do talk through your concerns with the GP. It may be that they can offer you some reassurance about the next steps in monitoring your health.
As I've mentioned in my post above, do give our team of nurses a call if you'd like to talk things through with them. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can.
Let us know how you get on tomorrow Benstead.
Best wishes,
Jenn
