Obtaining prosthesis post mastectomy

6 weeks on from a mastectomy and axillary clearance I has a very rushed appointment with an Amoena prosthesis rep who seemed flustered and more intent on telling me about her work load and moving on than dealing with me.

Following this I tried to order my free post op bra and to order and pay for a swimming prosthesis with promised 10%discount.

The process meant juggling 3 screens, using 2 time-limited codes. I am very IT savvy but both codes were rejected so I do not have the bra and paid in full for the swim prosthesis.

I contacted Amoena by phone (recorded) to sort it our, no reply.

I called their enquiry number twice and was cut off twice. I have now send an email to their 'contact us' form and will see what happens.

I am not impressed at all with the customer service. I'm hoping that this gets resolved soon.

  • Welcome to our forum, Tassinari.

I'm sorry to hear how upsetting this has been for you only six weeks after your surgery.

It sounds like your attempts to order your free post-operative bra and a swimming prosthesis with the promised discount have been unnecessarily complicated. Despite your IT skills, juggling multiple screens and time-limited codes that were rejected feels so unfair.

Perhaps you could try again during office hours, explaining that the codes failed and requesting an update on your items and the discount. It may also help to mention that the ordering process felt overly complex and could benefit from simplification for others in the same situation

I hope others with similar experience will join soon to offer advice. In the meantime, know that we are here whenever you wish to talk.

    All the best,
