Worried, scared and freaking out - having episodes of weakness in legs and heart palpitations. Been referred to haematology and cardiology

Went to Drs earlier in year after having odd episodes of legs feeling weak, heart flutters.   Blood tests showed raised liver enzymes and low vit d borderline low b12 low folate and ferritin as well as slightly high haemoglobin and haematocrit.

Liver us scan showed mild fatty liver.  Ecg normal.

Treated low vit and took iron and folic acid as directed.   3 moths later felt a lot better. repeat bloods show improvement in most things but still slightly raised liver enzymes and high haemoglobin and haematocrit.    Dr not overly concerned but said repeat bloods in 3 months.

The other day had another odd episode of weak legs and heart palpitations   Went to drs who is referring me to haematology and cardiology.

Im terrified and convincing myself I have something very wrong.   Dont know what to do...

  • Hello IamWorried1 and welcome to the forum,

I'm sorry to hear your symptoms have returned, but I hope your upcoming tests go ok.

When you’re worried that you may have cancer, it can be natural to think the worst sometimes, but this can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better. While you wait, it might help to prepare yourself for what to expect at your next appointment. You can read about urgent referrals on our website and we also have guidance around coping with waiting for news, which I hope will be useful.

    Best wishes to you,
