  • Hello Westat3

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently been diagnosed with muscle invasive bladder cancer and that you've been advised that surgery isn't an option. It's understandable that this may be an anxious time for you.

It's good to hear that you've been referred to oncology for discussion about other possible treatment options. We have some information on our website about treatment for muscle invasive bladder cancer. You might find it helpful to have a read through some of the other options that might be available to you before meeting with the specialist.

If it would hel pto talk things through with one of our nurses, you're most welcome to give them a call. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can. They're available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Hopefully you won't have to wait too long to see the specialist and they will be able to give you some answers and reassurance when you see them. Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,

  • I’m getting a lot of pain. Is this usual?

  • Hello Westat3

It's certainly worth talking with your specialist cancer nurse if you have one or your GP about the pain that you're experiencing, as they will be best placed to arrange any tests or medications that might be appropraite to help improve things for you.

If you feel over the weekend that the pain is worse or that you would like to talk with a health professianl for advice then don't be afriad to call NHS 111.

I hope things settle for you soon.

    Best wishes,
