Any advice? - I've just been diagnosed with breast cancer and meeting my consultant on Thursday, I'm so scared.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer last Thursday, 2 lumps in one 1 lump in the other, fortunately it hasn't spread to my lymph, I had biopsies and titanium clips implanted, if that's the right way to say it, today I had a full body CT scan, and wednesday I'm having a MRI scan, and meeting with the consultant on Thursday, I'm so scared, even though I've been assured it's treatable, I have great support around me, but if anyone has had similar and give me any advice it would be gratefully received

  • Hi Tina1963,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry you haven't received a reply to your post up to now. I see you had an appointment yesterday and your meeting today - I hope this goes OK and that you get all the information you need.

You may find it helpful to write down any questions you have, and also make a note of what they say to you.

It's good to hear you have good support around you. Hopefully this forum can be a little extra source of support also - there will be others here with similar experience and so hopefully you'll get more replies to your post soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben

  • Hi Tina,  just wanted to say good luck with your meeting today.  It is very scary to be told you have cancer.  I hope it goes well and you have a treatment plan in place.  Please take someone with your today as when I got diagnosed my husband was with me and he remembered lots more stuff than I did.  I had lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy then chemo and then radiotherapy.  Took tamoxifen then anastrazole for five years.  Let me know how you get on today and what your treatment plan is.  If I can help you in anyway I will do so.  You have got this.
