Granulomatous inflammation/mastitis

In mid June this year I found a hard lump, in July this year I had mammogram, ultra sound and two biopsies which came back no C but granulomatous.

Having read about this on the Internet it sounds scaring in the fact it's rare, now being sent for chest xrays and ct scan and bloods. Is there anything I can do, my consultant said there is no medication for this unless it shows signs of redness or any infection. Out of my mind with worry

  • Welcome to the Cancer Chat community Netty88, although I'm sorry for the reason you're joining us.

Breast Cancer Now have some really useful information about granulomatous mastitis on their website but if it would help to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses, they're just a phone call away on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they will do all they can to answer your questions and put your mind at ease.

Hopefully some of our members who have also been told they have this benign breast condition will be along soon to share their experiences and advice with you as well.

In the meantime, we're sending you all our support Netty and hope all goes well with your x-ray, CT scan and blood tests.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
