Triple negative stage 2A Breast cancer

Hi, I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, stage 2A and grade 3. I am 41, I gave birth 5 month ago and I was breastfeeding until now. My lymph nodes are clear, but the lump is 29 millimetres. I will meet an oncologist in 14 days. I'll have chemotherapy, a lumpectomy and radiotherapy.

I'm very anxious about the waiting time. Can the cancer spread elsewhere as I wait for treatment? How fast the chemotherapy treatment starts after seeing an oncologist?  Is this type of cancer being grade 3 very aggressive?

If someone been through this before and can give me some information, it would be much appreciated. Thank you

  • Hi Billy-boy,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can understand that the waiting and uncertainty is difficult and I hope you're getting on as OK as can be.

I can see you have also posted in the 'Ask the Nurses' section of this forum and received a reply from one of our nurses, so I hope this has been helpful.

Make a note of any questions you have so you remember to ask them at your appointment. And while waiting, try to keep busy and focused on other things as much as possible. I know this can be easier said than done.

We are always here for support if you need it and I hope that the forum can be helpful for you.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
