I started my chemo for ovarian cancer last Monday. I have no appetite and no interest in drinking. I am forcing myself to. I feel as though I have hit a brick wall. I having chemo every week. Do you get any respite from this? I am normally a very positive person but I am really scared.

  • Hello 1Linda and welcome to Cancer Chat.

I'm sorry to hear about your lack of appetite and not wanting to drink anything at the moment.

I know this must be scary but try not to panic. Hopefully some of these tips we have for managing changes in appetite and taste will help but if you'd like to speak to one of our cancer nurses about this, they're available on 0808 800 4040. Their helpline is open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they'll do all they can to support you and address your current questions and concerns.

Many of our members have also experienced these side effects when having chemo, so you are not alone 1Linda, and hopefully it won't be long until some of them stop by to share their experiences and advice.

In the meantime, we're sending you all our support 1Linda and wishing you all the best with your treatment.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
