Hell8 - received a shock diagnosis of oesophageal cancer. I don't think I can do this

I'm in shock after a diagnosis of cancer in my oesophagus.  I'm to have chemo and horrific surgery.   I'm fit and well and only went to my GP as I had very odd symptoms whjch led to my having iron deficient anaemia.   Fast track referral followed and here I am now.   Terrified, feeling life as I know it is over and sorely tempted to say I'm not doing this and take my chances.    Thought I was a very fit and well 75 year old, we walk lots, eat well and have done everything possible to maintain good health and fitness.    Not sure I can do this
