Wife of bladder/kidney cancer husband

So my husband was diagnosed in February with bladder cancer. He has 2 G3 tumours removed but we were then told he had an aggressive tumour in the tube to his right kidney. Long story short he is now 3 weeks post selective cystectomy and right nephrectomy.

To family and friends this seemed to be a very radical solution.  But for him/us it is was the only way we could evade the 6 weekly checkups and treatment for something the Dr's were 80% sure would return. He didn't want want to live waiting for that to happen.

We will get there one step at a time.

  • Hi AliceM25,

I just wanted to quickly stop by to let you know your post has been seen and to give it a little boost as I noticed no-one has replied to you just yet.

So many of our members know how tough it can be to support a loved one with cancer and coping with the reactions from family and friends, so you are not alone AliceM25, and I'm sure some of them will be along soon to share their experiences and advice.

Like you say, one step at a time and fingers crossed both surgeries have been successful in removing all the cancer.

    Best wishes to you both,
