I am sorry to hear that you have been waiting some time for your MRI results. Can I ask what type of cancer you are being tested for and how long you have been waiting for?

thank you for the reply. I have LIBC 1 cm and I’ve been waiting 12 days for the MRI. So far but altogether I’m waiting for a surgery date since 1st May. Thanks again for your support Katkin.
Waiting times for results can vary throughout the country - on average usually anything between 1-3 weeks. In respect of surgery, it normally takes 6-8 weeks to get a date for this. If you haven't heard anything after 2 weeks, you could phone up your consultant's secretary and ask when she expects them back. They will be returned to her, so she should know. She should also know when the next MDT meeting will be held.
The usual protocol, after your results come back, is for the findings to be discussed at an MDT(Multi-disciplinary team) meeting. These are usually held on a weekly basis. Here all of the people involved in your care, will discuss the MRI results and decide on the best way forward. You won't get an appointment until the MDT meeting has been held.
