I have been diagnosed with a BCC on my nose. Has anyone been treated using LED light and Powerful anti cancer cream. If so which NHS Hospitals offer it?
Yes it is a post code lottery when it comes to available treatments. Taunton was evaluating photodynamic therapy at the time. It is not available at my local hospital. Conventional surgery for BCC is the only option and not MOHS surgery. I do hope it all goes well for you and it should. Take good care of skin from now on by protecting it fron UV sunlight if you dont want a repeat BCC.
I had 'rotated skin flaps' of my own facial skin. It enables the surgeon to excise the BCC with the same colour skin filling the hole. The process will be somewhat ugly for six months to a year though. I was told I was their best patient! They didn't know the grand children were afraid to look at me. My flaps' seem to move about too. I hope it settles down soon.
The procedure is very clever with a good visual outcome. Ive had skin grafts and the affected large areas are pretty horrible attracting unwanted stares. The granchildren have quickly got used to it though after their initial interest. Hoping your scarring fades away to nothing over the coming moths.
