Welcome to the forum Cudworth Like you I also have advanced skin cancer. If you need help in dealing with cancer the wonderful nurses here can answer any questions you might have as well as other members of the forum who share your experience. What type of skin cancer do you have? What treatment are you receiving? Best wishes
Ed
Diagnosed stage4 skin cancer was in hospital since April 14th. But home now
I think Ed was asking what type of skin cancer do you have? Is it melanoma?
Initially started as melanoma, this was removed in November,,they also did wide local excision, it was tested and results came back in April all was ok, but 3 days later I experienced awful headaches and dizziness, called 111 went to local hospital who gave me a scan ,they said it had spread to my brain. I am home now after 6 weeks in hospital on chemotherapy tablets among others
a bit wary of what happens next
I'm so sorry to hear this, it's so scary when it happens out of the blue. I'm assuming they will arrange another brain MRI to see if the treatment has had any effect & then take it from there.
Angie (Stage 3 melanoma patient since 2009)
I think in another couple of months there Wii be another MRI chemotherapy tablets seem to be working but get tired
I did not realise you have been so poorly with this awful disease but heartened by the fact that youve been able to get home and that your treatment is giving you some relief. Best wishes.
Ed
Yes, the treatment can knock the stuffing out of you. I've sent you a friend request - if you accept it I can send you a private message with some resources that may help you.
Request accepted
Hi Phil - It's not showing you've accepted my friend request. I've sent it again.
