Prostate cancer - treatment or surgery?

Having recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer I now have make the decision regarding treatment or surgery.

Because the cancer is “contained” in the prostate and has not spread, I’m leaning towards surgery, but I’d welcome and guidance from the community.
