I was diagnosed with CML in October 2019. It was a surprise to say the least, however I believe I was lucky as I was on 6 monthly blood screening as I am on a statin and blood pressure tabs. I was 63 then and had been looking after my father who was in palliative care in his house for almost two years. The CML was caught early and I was put on imatinib straight away which achieved a response after a month and reduced the dose. The dose was further reduced in January 2024 and in December 24 it was suggested I come off the tki's and be checked monthly and so far everything is OK, doctor phoning tomorrow with the latest results. I have noticed more side affects since I stopped the pills and have muscle and joint issues but they should subside with time. Generally I feel good and long may it continue.
