Bladder Cancer

Hi all, I am 68 and had two tumours removed from my bladder on the 30th April and I am now just waiting for the results, does anyone know how long it takes to get the results. Trying to be positive and not let it get me down, so would appreciate any insight, thanks.

  • Hello Jock77

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had two tumours removed from your bladder. I hope that you've recovered well from the procedure and not experienced too much discomfort.

It's difficult to say how long it may take for you to hear about the results. As it's now been nearly 3 weeks, why not give the consultant's secretary or your specialist nurse, if you have been given contact details for one, a call? Hopefully, they will be able to give you some reassurance and let you know when you might have an update from the team.

If it would help to talk things through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can.

Do keep in touch Jock77 and let us know how you get on.

    Sending my best wishes,

  • Thanks for the reply and the advice Jenn, I was thinking if I not heard anything by next week to ring and hopefully find something out. I just hate to bothering people, I am sure they have enough to do and will get to me once they have results.

    many thanks

  • I had a lump removed 1st of April got results back from urology on the 8th of May it normally takes between 4 to 6 weeks for results to get back to the hospital   hope you have better news than I did starting chemo on 2nd of June but we are in the best of hand with the specialists involved keep positive and best of luck.

  • Hi Ollie1900, thanks for the reply it’s good to know how long it takes from someone who is going through it. Well Ollie1900 hope it all goes well with the chemo, it is not easy but you get through it, like you in the best of hands. All the best and keep strong

    Hi Jock77,

I was diagnosed with bladder cancer 26th May 2016. Had invasive treatment over the next 12 months and ended up having my bladder removed 1st August 2017. If I can help/advise in any way, please just ask.

    Regards,

    P.
