Tcc kidney cancer

Hi all on Wednesday this week I was
diagnosed with a Tcc kidney tumour and have to have my full right kidney removed. Apparently it’s 3x5 in size not quite sure what this means. I need to also have a chest and bladder ct scan and a cystoscope in my bladder to check for anything in there. The consultant has said they won’t be able to tell me if it is 100% cancerous or the grade until it’s been removed and sent away for testing. I’m just so overwhelmed, scared and confused at the moment and the word cancer is terrifying me  . I’m just hoping it’s been caught early and not spread. Has anybody else on hear had or going through something similar, it would be great to chat, I really need my mind to stop overthinking and thinking about the worst scenario all the time. Thank you for reading, much appreciated xxx

  • Welcome to the Cancer Chat community Mistymoo79, although I'm sorry to hear you've been diagnosed with TCC kidney cancer.

Coping with a cancer diagnosis can be very difficult. It brings about so many thoughts and emotions, some of which you have mentioned in your post, but I hope it helps to know that you are not alone as so many of our members have been in this position too and hopefully some of them will stop by soon to offer their support and advice.

You can also talk things through with one of our cancer nurses if you like on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very insightful, and will do all they can to support you and answer any other questions you may have, so do give them a call if speaking to them will help to ease your mind at this anxious time.

The journey ahead will be tough, but we are thinking of you Mistymoo79 and will have our fingers crossed the cancer hasn't spread.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
