Stomach Cancer!

I have recently been diagnosed with an unusual stomach cancer Squamous Cell Carcinoma (Apparently this usually appears on the skin)

it’s a 8cm tumour on the side of my tummy. Has anybody been diagnosed with anything similar x

Coping with cancer can be very tough, but I hope being a part of our community with so many members who are on this journey too will give you strength and comfort at this time.

    1. I haven't been diagnoses with this type of cancer, and I can't remember which type. I have been on a roller coaster of diagnoses and re diagnoses. Starting with only an ulcer, then told it was a small cancer which would require half my stomach removed, then to betold i would need all of my stomach removed! The treatment then to be 4 sessions of FLOTs chemo, surgery and then further 4 sessions of FLOT, chemo. After my 1st session of chemo I was so poorly, it was decided to stop the   chemo because it was damaging my kidneys. I have now been referred back to the surgeon to discuss surgery. I am really not sure what to do, I have been told by all medical staff that now I have been referred back to the surgical team there will will be a team of specialist to support me. I really want information about post treatment and aftercare now and not have to wait for my appointment. The oncologist did speak  of issues of not being able t3 continue with chemo and this will be discussed further when i meet witht the surgeon. Some people have posted their experiences on YouTube and all have spoken about issues with refux
