Water around heart due to breast cancer

I was all set for a lumpectomy and lymph node clearance and then a CT scan showed water around my heart. I have been waiting for several weeks for an echo cardiogram. I have been short of breath and getting pain on the left side of my chest and down my left arm.  Has anyone else had this and had the water removed? I'm worried this will hold my surgery up even more or they will say I can't have surgery as they have already said it is risky because of my health problems.
