Firm, non movable lump behind ear

Hi,

I am someone who struggles a lot of health anxiety as it is and have lumps around my body that I have had checked out. I have lipoma lump on my neck that I have had for 5+ years but was given the all clear.

However, it has started to hurt which made me feel around my neck and ear, which is where I discovered a hard, firm lump behind my ear that hurts when I put pressure on it. Does anyone know what it could be? I am very worried and have numerous trips to the doctors and had my bloods taken 2 weeks ago. The NHS say to wait 2 weeks but I am so concerned as usually hard lumps are a cause for concern.

Please can someone help. Thanks

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat, sulland2814,

I'm sorry to hear about the lump you have found behind your ear and the worry it's causing you.

It is reassuring to know that you have seen your doctor and had your blood tests done recently. Waiting for answers can be very hard, particularly when our minds start imagining all the possibilities, but you have done the right thing by getting it checked.

As I'm not medically trained I can't say what the lump might be, but if you feel it would help to speak to someone in the meantime, our  nurses are available on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m

I hope you receive some clarity soon, and that others here who have had similar experiences might stop by to share.

    Best wishes,
