mri scan waiting results

Hi

New on here, so recently had MRI scan for prostrate, PSA 4.9 so slightly raised, other symptoms frequent urination, I mean lots, I can go 6 to 8 times in an hour when bad, or empty my bladder only to have to go again minutes later, sometimes good flow sometimes i can sit and wait ages while it trickles out, very annoying and been like ths for years 8- 9, doctors told me i had enlarged prostate, but have never treated the urination problem and the fact when i get the urge i have to go cannot hold. Recently a new doctor i saw did a blood test and noted raised PSA and sent me for Mri scan two and a half weeks ago, got a phone call  today from urology who gave me a phone appointment next week. Maybe wrong but I am assuming my condition isnt  urgent so hoping for maybe not good news but not bad news or am i jumping the gun

  • Hi lee64,

It's good that the doctors are looking into this and that you were sent for an MRI scan to check things thoroughly. It's hard to know really what it all means but it's great that things moved fast and you have had the MRI and hopefully by next week you will have some definite answers during your phone appointment.

While you are waiting, I thought I would share with you these helpful tips to help you cope while waiting for important news.

Keeping everything crossed for you for good results. Let us know what you find out if you get a chance!

    Best wishes,

  • Good news no sign of cancer, prostrate enlarged, so got to have regular PSA tests and raised my levels to be below 7.9 before having to be,referred again and medication to reduce the prostrate and solve my urination problem.
