Death is imminent

My mum is now in a hospice and no longer able to talk.

The Dr has spoken to me in regards to life expectancy and its sooner than we thought. She's gave up and she's had enough.

I don't know how to deal with seeing my mum pass away but wanting to be with her too.

How do I face this knowing she's going to die.

It's so hard to be upbeat and see her without breaking down daily.

  • Hi Emya

A big hug for you from all of us on this forum. Just be with your mum as much as you can in the coming days. Talk to her even if you think she cannot hear you. The sense of hearing remains with us throughout. Talk about the lovely memories you have of time spent with her and your family. It is really OK to breakdown daily, not many of us wouldn't. If you can find somewhere where you can scream your head off at the top of your voice this can help. I did this to overcome the overwhelming emotions experienced whilst sitting with both my mum and dad.  Be kind on yourself and dont turn down any support from the hospice they are there for you too.
