Uterine Cancer - I'm really struggling with the pain and really miserable. My next appointment isn't until next Wednesday

3/4 weeks ago I started bleeding after 14yrs into Menopause. the bleeding hasn't stopped & my stomach is so painful sometimes unbearable. GP has prescribed Codeine until I get sorted from the hospital but it just doesn't work. Im also taking Ibuprofen.

I was sent 2 week wait for them to test the lining of my stomach which has come back abnormal. It is only 8mm so I don't think that's bad at all.  It's constantly on my mind & the pain & bleeding is really getting me down.  I have severe back pain but I have had 2 major spinal operations which were one at the lumbar and one at the cervical. My appointment is next Wednesday  but im not coping with the pain at all and really miserable.

are there anyone else I can chat with maybe in a similar situation. I don't express my feelings to the family.

Thank you Jaki

  • I'm really sorry to hear how much pain you're in Jaki.

To be in so much pain all the time must be so upsetting, even more so when the pain relief you've been given isn't working, so it's completely understandable why you're feeling so down.

I know it's difficult over the weekend, but if you're able to get in touch with your GP through their out of hours service maybe you could ask them to prescribe a stronger medication that will help you through the next few days. If that isn't possible, it may be worth getting in touch with the NHS on 111 to see if they can get you the pain relief you need instead.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar situation will stop by soon to offer their thoughts and advice but in the meantime, we're thinking of you Jaki and sending all our support your way.

I really do hope the next few days become more manageable and all goes well with your appointment on Wednesday.

    Kind regards,
