  • Hi Red-panda,

A very warm welcome to our forum. Getting a cancer diagnosis is something that hits us all like a ton of bricks. Some of us go into panic mode and give reign to our overactive imaginations. Others go into denial, so you may well be right. There is no right or wrong way to deal with this, but you will find that it gets easier once you know the full facts of your diagnosis and how your care team is going to deal with it. Do you know what stage your cancer is, or what your surgery and  treatment is likely to be yet?

Unfortunately, it will all become more real, once this awful stage of waiting for results is all over. I hope that you have some good support from friends and relatives, as it does help to talk to someone. You will find this forum a great source of advice and support from people who really know, from first hand experience, what you are going through. I had 2 bouts within a year of one another and have had a lumpectomy, followed by a double mastectomy. It is now 15 years since I was first diagnosed and I still lead a busy and fulfilling life.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
