Breast cancer or CUP cancer?

 Hello

I had a brain mri just after Christmas as a precaution after having a lump on my tongue removed. This showed up a minimum of three brain lesions but the experts are not sure whether they look like secondary cancer or not. Since then i have a neck ultrasound, CT Tap scan, breast mri and will be having a focused ultrasound and biopsy on 'an area of concern' in left breast lump ( this Friday). This is all trying to find a primary cancer to biopsy.

This has been going on for more than 3 months and I have been told very little.

I was hoping that I may be told something next week but apparently I have to be discussed at another MDT meeting which will be the 7th I think.  I was told knowing next week is optimistic.

The waiting is draining.

Happy to hear any wisdom from anyone!

  • Hello Rosehugh

I'm sorry to hear about all that you've been through over the past few months. It sounds like it's been an emotionally and psychologically draining time for you whilst the specialists are trying to get a clear diagnosis. It's understandable that you may be struggling with all of this.

I hope that today's biopsy brings some clearer answers for you and that the team will then be able to talk with you about the best way forward.

If it would help to talk with one of our nurses at any point, you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can.

Keep in touch Rosehugh and let us know how you get on. We're here for you.

    Best wishes,
