Hello, just introducing myself. I was diagnosed with grade 2 bi-lateral breast cancer a few weeks ago from a regular mammogram. In fact it didn't show up on the mammogram and no lumps detected. I have dense breast tissue so they elected to do an ultrasound where it was spotted. I had the lumpectomies and from that they detected small intermediate DCIS that weren't originally seen on the ultrasound. Has left me feeling overall a bit anxious. I'm not sure whether this will affect the length of my radiotherapy treatment. I shall wait to hear. I'm telling all my friends to get their mammograms done, and ask whether they have dense breasts. I could do without it but I know I'm so lucky.
