Throat Biopsy results has been moved forward - is this normal?

Hello I had my tonsils removed when I was a child and was referred to ENT due to a persistent cough. The Dr found a lump in the back of my throat where my right tonsil would have been. Within a week I had it removed and was given an appointment date for a month's time. I've just received an email saying that my appointment has been moved forward to next week. If this normal? It's made me panic abit.

  • Hi Be123 and welcome to the Cancer Chat community.

I hope you're recovering well from your biopsy, although I'm sorry for the stress and worry your next appointment is causing.

I know it's difficult, but try not to jump to any conclusions or think the worst if you can as there could be a number of reasons why your appointment has been brought forward e.g. a cancellation has popped up so they are able to see you sooner. I know this won't take the fear away but hopefully some support and kind words from our members who have been in a similar position will help to steady your nerves whilst you wait.

I hope this advice we have on how to cope with waiting for news will help as well but in the meantime, we're thinking of you Be123 and wishing you all the best for next week.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
