After 10 years on tamoxifen

Hello

I had breast cancer in 2001 and 2015 separate primaries.   I had chemo and reconstruction after both.     I now know I have the chek2 gene accounting for my original diagnosis age 38.    I’m interested in how I cope now I’ve finished tamoxifen and feeling on edge.   I had no issues when taking it.    I’m fairly healthy and retired.

  • Hi Mchek2,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I wanted to send a reply to your post to give it a little boost, so a few more people should see it. Hopefully you'll get some more replies from other members of our community, particularly if anyone in a similar situation sees it.

You may find it helpful to search the forum (using the bar at the top of the page), as there are some other relevant discussions on here also.

If you haven't already, it would certainly be worth having a chat with your doctor about this - how you're feeling and what to expect - and to run through any questions you have.

Our nurses are also available if you'd like to talk things through with one of them. You can reach them on freephone 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
