Diagnosed with Non Hodgkin Lymphoma and been put on watch and wait. Struggling to cope with this

Hi I was diagnosed in August last year with Non Hodgkin lymphoma ( follicular lymphoma. I am on watch and wait, which has blown my mind, I had prepared my mind for treatment. To be told I don't need treatment yet has messed with my mind. I feel like I'm walking round with a ticking time bomb waiting to go off. I have my family and friends saying, why are they leaving you what if the Cancer gets worse. I can not reassure them because it's how I feel.

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Kezza, although I'm sorry to hear you were diagnosed with Follicular Lymphoma last year.

Finding a way to cope with the worry of not having treatment when having cancer can be very difficult, but I hope this information we have about watch and wait will help to alleviate some of your fears and concerns, as well as those of your family and friends.

I'm sure some of our members who are or have been on watch and wait will be along soon to offer their support and advice but if it would help to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very easy to talk to and will do all they can to answer your questions and put your mind at ease.

We're here for you Kezza and sending all our support to you at this challenging time.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
