Life after a lumpectomy

Following a lumpectomy last year. The first surgery removed lymph nodes which were clear but didn't remove the actual cancer lump. I needed a second surgery which I was told was successful. I've had radiotherapy and now take medication. I'm still tired so much of the time. I gets lots of pain spasms in my breast swear I'm feeling new lumps. Does anyone else feel like this ? Beginning to think I'm going mad is it normal?

  • Hello Islay,

Welcome to Cancer Chat and I'm pleased to hear your second surgery was successful, though I'm sorry about these pains you're having. There can be all sorts of side effects and they can affect people differently, so what you're feeling is natural. It might be a good idea to speak to your doctor about this, if you haven't already. On our website, we have guidance around living with breast cancer, including after surgery.

I hope this helps in some way,
