Hi everyone. I'd like to say I developed a lump on my neck on the right side, around Christmas time 2024. I have attended the ENT department at my local hospital, and had an ultrasound scan, early January 2025. The problem was not identified after that. I've since had a CT san, and a us guided aspiration on my neck which identified P16 negative squamous cell carcinoma. My consultant was sure this was not the primary site and sent me for a PET scan. The results showed no FDG avid uptake on primary site but did show a solitary 28 mm right lobe of liver lesion. I was awaiting a liver biopsy, and despite attending the Day intervention unit at my local hospital, and despite me attending, that had to be abandoned due to incomplete information, or misunderstood on my part, something I may be willing to discuss further at a later point. As it stands at this point I am awaiting a rescheduling of said biopsy.
Am I worried? Slightly but not to the point I am all out panicking, however, sleepless nights are now a thing in my life, to which I have changed my diet in an attempt to allieviate that problem. I'm not big on taking any medication, though Ibuprofen and paracetamol are my choices to control the throbbing in my neck, mainly at bed times. I am 67 years old, 68 next month, and am just grateful to have had a good life up until now.
