LLETZ treatment aftermath

Hi everyone, I was hoping someone could shed light on my situation please. So, I had a LLETZ treatment 4 weeks ago and have received a copy of the biopsy report which was sent to my GP saying I have CIN 3, high grade pre-cancerous cells.

This is the first I’ve heard anything since having the treatment and was under the impression that I’d receive a personal letter confirming whether the treatment has been successful or not so I know what to expect next. I feel like I’ve been for the treatment then been dismissed and left feeling in the dark about the whole situation. I don’t know have a clue what happens next and was wondering if anyone’s been in a similar situation or could help me on the whole thing?

I have contacted the clinic I had the treatment as well as my GP but I’m getting passed from pillar to post and just want clarity to put my mind at ease. Thank you x

  • Hello paigeybaby96

I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling to get some clarity regarding the next steps following your recent LLETZ treatment and results. It's understandable that you're feeling frustrated.

In terms of trying to get some answers from the hospital, I'd suggest getting in touch with the hospital PALS team. It's part of their role to help resolve concerns or problems when you're using the NHS. If you feel that the GP surgery isn't being forthcoming in answering your questions about the next steps then you can always ask to speak with the Practice Manager.

We do have some information about abnormal cervical cells on our website and you might like to give our nurses a call to chat things through with them as well. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040 and I know will be happy to offer any advice and information they can.

I do hope that you get some clarification and reassurance soon.

    Best wishes,
