Breast cancer survivor

In 27 March 2024 I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. Since then I have had surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy and I am still receiving Phesgo injections.
Although I am very grateful for all of this, I have recently been feeling very low and wondering if I will ever get back to how I was pre cancer?
I don’t recognise anything about myself anymore and I hate it.

Anyone else feel like this ?

  • Welcome to the forum, Jacqui1,
I’m sorry to hear that you're feeling this way after all that you've been through. It’s completely understandable to feel low and uncertain after such an intense and transformative experience. It can take time to adjust to your new reality, and it’s okay to feel lost or frustrated at times. What you’ve been through is a lot, and it’s important to be kind to yourself as you work through it.
You’re not alone in feeling this way - many people here shared similar experiences of grappling with changes to themselves after treatment. Hopefully some of them will be here shortly to offer support and advice.
If speaking to someone on the phone can help, our team of nurses is available to talk. You can reach them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
Please remember to take one day at a time.
    Wishing you all the best,
