A Year on and still having issues. Is this a normal issue? I think it might be because of Letrozole but I'm too scared to stop taking it

Hi , A year ago last week and I still have issues, mentally I struggle with paranoia, I’m aware of every pain, twinge I feel is cancer !
I had a double mastectomy and lymph node removal , wearing prosthetic breasts is still painful, I was given replacement of different size but just the same discomfort.

I'm on Letrozole- hormone blocker as that was the cancer type. I’m sure this may be the cause of most of the issues but too scared to stop taking it.  Wonder if this is a normal issue.

  • Welcome to the Cancer Chat community Tish- although I'm sorry to hear you're still having some issues a year after finishing treatment.

A lot of our members have had similar issues with Letrozole so hopefully it won't be long until some of them stop by to share their experiences and advice.

I know you're scared, but do make sure you discuss this further with your medical team and/or GP as they will be in the best position to help. They will also be able to tell you whether there are any alternatives you can try, but if it would help to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses first, you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

    Kind regards,
