Just started weekly Taxol for breast cancer

Hello everyone -
Diagnosed with DCIS in October, breast conserving surgery in November only to find that it had invaded the surrounding tissue. Net result is Triple positive grade 3 but has thankfully not spread beyond the breast. Had my first of 12 weekly chemo last week and have number 2 tomorrow.  Am still a little in shock although think I’m doing OK and just want this to be over with.

  • Welcome to the forum, Wyldcancerwarrior  and thank you for sharing your story with us.

I can only imagine how overwhelming everything must feel right now, from the initial diagnosis to the recent treatment.

It's great to hear that you’re doing okay so far. As you go through these weekly treatments, remember to take it one step at a time. It’s completely normal to have mixed emotions, and leaning on others for support can make all the difference. I’m sure there are others here who have been through similar experiences and will be happy to offer their advice and encouragement as you continue your journey.

If you ever need any guidance or just want to talk, feel free to reach out to our community or our team of nurses. They are always available at 0808 800 4040 from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Wishing you strength and comfort as you move through this process. You've got this!

    Warmly,

  • Thank you Renata,

I’m really interested in understanding when people start to loose hair on the weekly taxol but haven’t managed to find any chats abouts it.
Have looked at the links etc. everything crossed I am one of the lucky few who don’t loose it!!

    warmest regards
