  • Hi, just seen your post, my 'sista'  [ 45 years of friendship] was diagnosed with Myeloma in Oct 2023. I have found the Myeloma UK site very informative and helpful.  I belong to the 'friends and family ' group...the initial diagnosis was overwhelming [ as I'm sure you and your family agree]  as time has gone on and with the support [ for my sista] of a Specialist Nurse, life has settled into a 'new' normal ... I am 500 miles from her and unable to travel due to my own health issues,  so feel helpless and hopeless so much of the time.. take good care of yourself..Myeloma UK Offer great advice and events.. my sis went to a seminar last year which she found very helpful and informative,  she also met 2 women who she keeps in contact with..it can be helpful to have someone who understands from a personal perspective...

  • Hi Bongoonn.. thanku for your reply,  my sista decided against stem cell and has recently stopped most of her meds.. a difficult and very personal decision..

I am sorry to hear you are going through treatment again,  I can only begin to imagine the impact on you and your family ...

    Sending gentle hugs

  • Morning I am back in remission radiotherapy worked, another scan in 6 months

hope all is going ok with your sister

    how are you doing

  • Hi Bongoonn great news so happy for you..

My sister is carrying on as near normal as possible, keeping busy until she has to stop for a while. I have to acknowledge ( hard to accept) it is her journey and her decision..hard not to want to wrap her up and protect her but... thanku for asking. She has her chemo infusion ( now monthly) expecting it to be discussed in October with the MDT as it will be two years on remission meds.
