Low Grade CLL. Trying to lose weight to avoid diabetes. How can I tell the difference between healthy weight loss and weight loss for other reasons?

Fortunately I undertook a lung health check scan but to my dismay I was told I have a Low grade form of cancer it's still scary   but I'm so glad I was diagnosed and am able to look out for symptoms

My experience so far of the cancer unit is so reassuring and the staff are amazing

Has anyone out there got any advice on how to check if weight loss is healthy or not

I'm actively trying to loose weight to avoid diabetes and keep it a bay but not sure how to know if I'm loosing weight for other reasons can anyone advise

  • Welcome to the Cancer Chat forum Ykraps although I'm sorry to hear you've been diagnosed with a low grade form of CLL.

I hope this information we have about weight loss and cancer and how to lose weight healthily will help you differentiate between the two but if you'd like to speak to one of our cancer nurses about this, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very insightful and will do all they can to answer your questions.

If you haven't done so already, make sure you discuss this with the staff at your cancer unit as well as they will be able to advise you further.

I hope this helps and that you will hear back from some of our members soon.

    Kind regards,
