Here I go again..... again!!!!

So.... I'm on that roller coaster again,.

More kidney issues now on my right side. A  CT scan picked up issues in the soft tissue around the ureter. The radiologist is convinced the cancer has returned.

I have had an MRI today, and am having the stent fitted on Monday.

P.s. my last issue (left side) I was told no concern of cancer in the end!!

I am just about to give up with it all. I have similar pains to last time. But I can't keep gping through this mental stress.

Any advice greatfully received.

  • Hello xxHHxx

I'm so sorry to hear that you find yourself facing the prospect of a possible cancer diagnosis again. Being on this rollercoaster of waiting and tests and more waiting can certainly take its toll both physically, mentally and emotionally and it's understandable that you feel like giving up on it all.

Do you have support from family or friends around you? Do lean on them if you can as talking can certainly help particularly when times are difficult. If you would prefer to chat things through with one of our team of nurses you're welcome to give them a call. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

I hope that the stent fitting procedure on Monday goes smoothly and that the team will be able to make a clear diagnosis before too long. Let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,

  • Yes thank you I have my wife.

Just had bi lateral stents, on renewed and one inserted for the first time.. the urologist has told me I will be starting Chemo ASAP. HSurely this isnt the urologists role, haven't had the results of the MRI yet.....

Had the results of the MRI, the "balance of probability" it is recurrence..... my legs are pins and needles and painful, after the stwnts were fitted, I actually feel ill now.
