  • Hey Tina,

How did you get on with your chemo the other day? I hope it went well, but if you have any questions or concerns about your treatment, you're very welcome to give our team of cancer nurses a call. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they will do all they can to support you and put your mind at ease.

We hope you don't experience too many side effects over the next 18 weeks Tina, and that the results of your CT scan will bring good news when the time comes.

    Kind regards,

  • Hello there. I think that you are having Paclitaxol (aka Taxol) which effectively attacks the nucleus of the cancer cells to stop them dividing where the cancer cells die off. The CT scan should show that it will shrink and if they are using the CA125 results, this should also show that the cancer is shrinking. Are you not also having Bevacizumab (aka Avastin) which is an immunotherapy drug that captures the protein on the surface of the cancer cells to prevent new blood supply forming and hence starves them causing them to also die off? Also, it enhances the effect of the Taxol in attacking the mass.
