Has anyone else had DPD deficiency ?

Hello everybody :-) I would love to hear from anyone else who has suffered from DPD deficiency. I'm particularly interested to know if you think you are suffering from any long term effects after being taken ill due to DPD deficiency. When i had 5FU for stage 3 bowel cancer 10 years ago, we weren't tested for it beforehand. I had a kind of anaphylaxis during my 2nd IV of 5FU and ended up in hospital for nearly 3 weeks. 

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat anony-mouse, although I'm really sorry to hear what happened 10 years ago when you were receiving treatment for bowel cancer. That must have been incredibly scary.
