My cancer story

Hi, I was first diagnosed with rectal cancer in October 2020 after numerous visits to the doctors and being fibbed off, I had 25 sessions of radiotherapy and 25 of chemotherapy which although shrinking the tumour resulted in barbie butt surgery and a permanent stoma in March 21, followed by 6 months of chemotherapy

i have battled all the way to receive the right tests, CT scans to speak to a nurse, to see a stoma nurse, I managed for over 2 years using Google and Tick Tock

i was told on 9th December I was 3 years and 9 months cancer free, but my consultant hadn’t received my latest scan results but he had looked through and found nothing.

I chased for the results, they hadn’t even been sent to the MDT board, they were seen Wednesday 8th January where I have now been told I have an unknown mass in my pelvis and have an MRI scan today

To say I am scared is an understatement, I am petrified and just need some words of reassurance and advice please, I have PTSD from my last experience
