Shelby4 - referred to hospital, appt next week. Does it usually happen so quickly?

Was referred to hospital yesterday re lump on face, got a phone call today and appointment for next week to see if it's skin cancer. Does it usually happen as quick as this as I've been told there's waiting list. Does this mean there's high chance it is cancer?

  • Hi,

You really can't read anything into how quick an appointment is I'm afraid. Appointments are supposed to happen within 2 weeks, although some hospitals have a waiting list. It may be that, because of the many infections going around, they have received a few cancellations so they go down the list & call in those who are waiting. Hopefully this is why you have been given an appointment next week and in some ways it's good because you don't have a long wait, worrying. Good luck and please let us know how you get on,
