Lung Cancer and Chemotherapy

Hi there, I was diagnosed with lung cancer a few years ago and have tried and tested various treatments since that time. Unfortunately I Chemo and Imuno combined started to affect my liver so then I was put onto chemotherapy medication. That seemed to work amazingly well on the cancer but not on my body as I was forever in the bathroom, so I was taken off that which really upset me at the time, but I knew it was the right decision as I had no quality of life. I started the last treatment they can offer me which is four bouts of chemo alongside a tablet. My journey has been tough but I find myself wondering when the side effects will start as I have been told this form of chemo has hallmark side effects and one loosing my hair. This really worries me has anyone else felt like they are waiting for the inevitable.

  • Hello Family2025

I'm sorry to hear about all that you've had to deal with since being diagnosed with lung cancer a few years ago. It sounds like it's been a real rollercoaster and I can understand that you're feeling anxious about this next form of chemo and the possible side effects you may have to deal with.

Have you spoken with your healthcare team about how you're feeling? Don't be afraid to tell them about your concerns. Hopefully, they will be able to offer some reassurance. If you'd prefer to talk things through with one of our nurses you can call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5pm. I know they will be happy to listen and offer any advice, information and support they can.

I hope that this new treatment isn't too problematic for you and that the results are positive. Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
