Mammogram callback

Hi,

Now,  I know I am over reacting....

However, had my mammogram on 25th November and today 7th Dec I have received a letter asking me to attend the Breast Care clinic on 11th Dec.

Breast look fine to me... No lumps it anything.

I've had a pain in my right thigh for a few months and now have a pain in my right forearm (on the outside - feels bone, not muscle)

I've been sick a couple of times in the past month which has had blood in it.

Feel tired but nothing new there!

I'm a 55 year old female. Had a couple of melanomaa removed from my right arm and have extensive sun damage (from 1976) over a lot of my body.

I'm a realist and any advice would be really helpful.

TIA x

  • Hi Pwancess,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

Am I right in saying that this is not your first mammogram? More recalls come for the first mammogram, than for any other. This is because there are no previous images on fire to compare this to. I have been recalled previously, had another mammogram and all was fine. The reason for my recall was that they didn't get a very clear image on the previous occasion. I do hope that your other symptoms are not related and that nothing abnormal is detected.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on, We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Jolamine, thank you for replying. No, it's not my first Mammogram. The last one I had, I had to go back as images were unclear. This time however, I have to attend a clinic because of an image they have concerns about.

  • HI Pwancess,

I know that this is a worrying time, but only 20% of all referrals to the breast clinic turn out to be breast cancer.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
