Peritoneal cancer primary and secondary lung effusion

Hi everyone

I know I have been diagnosed with quite a rare primary peritoneal cancer with a secondary lung effusion. It does sound good but I’ve got chemo in the next few weeks. I just wondered if there’s anyone else on here with a similar diagnosis? Has the chemo helped? It’s all come as a bit of a shock as 3 weeks ago I was just living a normal life with no symptoms. X

  • Hi Labradors and welcome to Cancer Chat.

I'm sorry you've been diagnosed with a rare primary peritoneal cancer with a secondary lung effusion but it's good to hear it won't be long until you start your chemo.

Hopefully you will hear back from some of our members with the same diagnosis soon, but do feel free to have a look for previous discussions about primary peritoneal cancer with a secondary lung effusion using the 'search forum' box at the top of this webpage.

As you say, finding out you have cancer can come as a huge shock, and no doubt elicit many other emotions as well, so if you'd like to talk about any of this with one of our cancer nurses, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very easy to talk to and will do all they can to support you and answer any other questions you may have about your diagnosis and/or treatment at this time.

Do keep posting if you find it helps Labradors and remember that we will always be here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator

  • Thank you. I can’t find much information or previous people with this cancer. But I’ll keep looking. I’ll ring next week to have a chat with someone. Thank you xx
