New here: diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer

Hi. I've been diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer and due an oncology appointment tomorrow.  Hopefully I'll get a date for starting chemo.  Also tomorrow I'm signing and getting keys for a new tenancy. We really need the bigger house but the timing sucks as I'm already fatigued before starting treatment. Does anyone have some advice for managing a house move? At least I now have something el se to think about besides cancer

  • Hello Bumblebee83

I'm sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis of IBC. I hope that your oncology appointment yesterday brought some answers and reassurance about the recommended treatment plan and that you now have a date to start treatment.

How exciting to be moving home, although as you say the timing probably isn't the greatest. Hopefully, you have some family and friends that you can ask for help and support to get you moved and you can take up the offers of help that generally come along when someone shares the news that they have been diagnosed with cancer.

It's understandable that you're feeling fatigued. Do try to make time to rest when you can and perhaps once you're in your new home, leave some of the larger jobs for a time when you're feeling better able to tackle things, or again when you can ask family and friends for help. It may be that delegation is going to be key for you!

I hope that things run smoothly for you Bumblebee83. Keep in touch over the coming weeks and let us know how you're managing.

    Best wishes,
