Suspected sarcoma

Hi   I’m new to this group I am a 30f with two young children one of which is disabled and relies solely on me for his medical and care needs so I am worried sick :(  , I am awaiting biopsy and scan on a lump I have had that has grown 2cm in size in 3months on the back of my left knee/leg  it’s not painful a little bit of an achy feeling in my leg only after a day of been active does it really throb, I’ve had no other symptoms no injuries or anything other than l the knee is becoming very clicky, after finally going to the gp because of the growth of it they referred me to the royal orthopaedic for suspected sarcoma as he said it was firm fixated to where it was and has some concerning features just reaching out really if anyone else has experienced similar , just to mention it is located on my left pop fossa . I’m sorry to hear about your situation.
It sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now, especially with the added worry of caring for your children, so it’s completely understandable that you’d be concerned about the lump you’ve noticed. That said, it’s great to hear that you’ve been proactive in seeking medical attention.
While you await your biopsy and scan, please remember that you're not alone. Many members of this community have faced similar challenges and are here to offer support and understanding. I’m sure some of them will be along shortly to chat with you.

  •  I am currently waiting to see a specialist at the sarcoma clinic - I have a mass on my upper arm - thought nothing of it tbh but it has been growing since I noticed it in July and when I saw my respiratory consultant (asthma) as I had a cough that will just not shift I told her and she sent me for an ultrasound.  I had the ultrasound on 5 March and it was a consultant radiologist who said it was definitely not a cyst and not lipoma (fatty tissue) and I needed an urgent referral to the sarcoma clinic.  I have had my appt through for 7 April (Liverpool) but I thankfully have Bupa with work.  Because its so rare there is nobody on Bupa I can see in Liverpool so I have an appointment on Monday with a specialist at a private hospital in Manchester.  I am hoping an praying for some good news on Monday and that I have now been worrying about nothing but time will tell.  I have been researching on the Sarcoma UK website and on a positive for me it says 8 out of 10 referrals are not malignant, however it also says that's because they are a cyst or fatty lump - which I know from my ultrasound this isn't the case - the waiting is driving me nuts!   Hopefully you will get an appt quickly... everything crossed for you x
