Hello

guess this is the forum no one wants to be in

here I am

i found a lump in my breast, NHS have been amazing and within a month I’ve had a lumpectomy and lymph node removed (sore armpit)

thought I was on the radiotherapy and hormone route then out of here, however my onctype test from California has come back high and breast nurse called yesterday. Referral to oncologist and be prepared for chemotherapy.  Bit scared not the first or the last but I saw my sister go through it and wasn’t pretty

Any advice would be welcome please

feeling angry and fed up

  • Hi, also new. I've also just had a lumpectomy and am on the wait to heal enough to have radiotherapy. Not looking forward to it but am told it's the route to go. Sorry to hear that your pathway has changed. Hang in there. Can't give any advice but it's nice to chat to those going through similar issues. The NHS have been brilliant so far, so we must trust their advice and keep moving through the steps towards recovery. Best wishes, hope it all works out for you

  • Hi, thank you for replying.  Well done on your progress so far.  I had my lumpectomy and lymph node removed on 23rd October so am waiting too, have an Oncology appointment come through for 11th December but been told to prepare myself for Chemo now.  Glad I was warned so had time to get used to the idea and perhaps it won't be too bad.  Just got to be brave and dig deep.  NHS are amazing, wish the news wasn't so negative about them as they are all doing an amazing job.

How is your scar, are sore or ok?

Best wishes to you too, be brave x
