New here, being investigated for womb cancer and I have lymphodema in both my legs

Hi!  I am in agony with my legs, mobility is very, very restricted, even going to the bathroom I have to use walking sticks. I am constantly in pain with lymphodema in both my legs. And I'm currently being investigated for womb cancer, consultant believes its pre cancerous cells and I am too obese to have a hysterectomy, so am being fitted with a coil with hormones to kill cells. Has anyone got any help with any of these issues please, it would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks

  • Hello JLClark,

Poor you having to use walking sticks even to go to the bathroom - it all sounds very painful and I hope that can you can seek help for the lymphoedema. You might be interested in reading our page explaining what lymphoedema is  and there is also a section on our website on treating lymphoedema. I hope you find something that helps. You have probably talked to your doctor about it before but it is worth maybe telling them how much pain you are experiencing in both legs and if there is anything they can suggest to help improve your mobility and quality of life.

Having to deal with all this while being investigated for womb cancer must be mentally exhausting and emotionally draining and I am sorry to hear you can't have a hysterectomy and I hope that the coil will be an effective way of getting rid of these pre-cancerous cells. I hope that you will hear from other members of our community who are going through investigations for womb cancer or who also suffer from lymphoedema in both legs. I have come across other members of this forum who have had to deal with lymphoedema often as a result of cancer treatment  and I hope that they will pop by and say hello, share their experience or tips on how they best managed their lymphoedema.

    Best wishes,
