I was told I had atypical carcinoid neuroendocrine tumours in my lungs - had a lobectomy on Monday

At the end of June I saw a consultant about my gall stones - he had suspicions about my symptoms and sent me for for a CT scan which found a couple of tumours in my lung (and also possibly thryoid).

It took a while - nearly 4 months - until 2 weeks ago I was told I had atypical carcinoid neuroendocrine tumours in my lungs and they recommended a lobectomy to remove the top part of my left lung and some nodes to check for spread.  The surgery was on Monday and despite a couple of hiccups along the way I came home yesterday after 6 days in hospital.

It's not comfortable yet and maybe I'm just haven't fully digested the news, but I feel ok about it.  In a few weeks I'l find out if there was any spread to my nodes. I still have to find out what they want to do about my thyroid and of course that gall bladder hasn't healed itself in the meantime!!

What I want is to know what I can do for myself - what should I be eating, doing (well eventually when I can move a little better!)

I also wanted to say that on day 3 after surgery I had a chest xray which they showed me - the bottom part of my left lung had expanded to fill the gap left by the lobectomy - it just looked like a complete lung - absolutely amazing!
